Apparently UKIP sent its dwindling membership a mail last week to tell them to look out for Nigel on the BBC's Andrew Marr political programme on Sunday morning. The mail included the qualification that should major news stories develop then the guest list could change. Major stories did indeed develop as the programme had to ditch Nigel in favour of a former leader of the Liberal Democrats party and an actress who writes books about cakes.

Nigel's press office might like to take note that when the BBC says your boss's appearance on a show is subject to events that actually means that they will take him if absolutely nobody else is available.
